Elmhurst Ballet School present MODE

During the year in which Elmhurst Ballet School celebrates 20 years in Birmingham, its graduate year Elmhurst Ballet Company presents Mode. The young company have collaborated with established dance artists and organisations to bring Mode to the stage.

The Company performs Wayne McGregor’s FAR, which has toured the world since its premiere in 2010, picking up accolades for McGregor’s ever insightful vision. This is the sixth project between Elmhurst Ballet School and Studio Wayne McGregor. The Company will also dance one of the most celebrated pieces in all of classical ballet when they take on The Kingdom of the Shades from Marius Petipa’s La Bayadère. From the first performance in St Petersburg in 1877, the ballet was hailed by contemporary critics and audiences alike as one of Petipa’s masterpieces.

A first-time collaboration with Birmingham City University’s School of Fashion and Textiles will celebrate all things fashion and catwalks in a new work called À la Mode, choreographed by Christopher Tendai and Cris Penfold, with costumes designed and made by BCU’s Fashion Design students. The company is also showcased in an excerpt from Spartacus by Yuri Grigorovich; Keeping the Faith, a new jazz piece by Elmhurst teacher Cris Penfold; and The Invitation, a new contemporary piece by Elmhurst teacher Sandrine Monin.  New works by choreographer Michael Corder (Fête Galante), and Elmhurst Ballet Company artist Scarlett Brass (Geōmantía) complete the programme. Hay Fever Relief

When it comes to managing hay fever symptoms in children under 18, especially during exam season, parents should seek safe and effective treatment options that provide rapid relief without unwanted side effects. While antihistamines and nasal corticosteroids are commonly used, there’s a promising alternative gaining attention for its innovative approach and numerous benefits.

Yet another positive of this therapy is the lack of drowsiness it causes. It has been proven that children who are either, battling through hay fever symptoms, or managing their symptoms with antihistamines, are 40% more likely to drop a grade from their targeted predictions. With antihistamines known for their drowsiness, another option is needed to keep your child alert and their symptoms at bay during important seasons of their school life. With exams now fast approaching, there is still time to book your child in for hay fever treatment, ensuring your child is protected and able to focus on their studies.
Book a hay fever appointment today, or arrange an allergy testing appointment to discuss whether hay fever is the cause of your child’s discomfort.
