Calthorpe Estates is delighted to sponsor four new practice nets at Edgbaston Golf Club.
As part of its commitment to supporting local businesses on the Estate and in Edgbaston Village, Calthorpe Estates has worked with the Club to help create of a new and more accessible practice area, complete with artificial grass matting and wooden signage.
The new nets will allow golf members and visitors to warm up prior to playing, brush up on their technical skills, as well as provide an alternative space to facilitate the golf clubs in house coaching.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Haydn Cooper, CEO of Calthorpe Estates, said: “We’re thrilled to have sponsored Edgbaston Golf Club’s new practice nets, which will enable local people and visitors to access new and improved facilities at the club.
“At Calthorpe Estates, we’re committed to establishing Edgbaston as a thriving leisure and lifestyle destination. It’s been a challenging year for businesses across the country, many of which have been unable to open at full capacity, if at all. We understand that a little support can go a long way, which is why we are keen to support those on the Estate wherever possible.”
Nick George, Chairman at Edgbaston Golf Club, added: “We’re incredibly grateful for Calthorpe Estate’s support over the last year, and are delighted to be able to officially unveil our new practice area for golfers. We’ve already had some fantastic feedback on the new and improved space, and are looking forward to welcoming existing and new members along to make use of the facility.”
Less than a mile from the city centre, Edgbaston Golf Club is the former home of the Calthorpe family, who have owned the estate for over 300 years. In 1810, George, 3rd Baron Calthorpe, decided to develop Edgbaston as a residential area, and in 1936, the original Edgbaston Hall became Edgbaston Golf Club.
Calthorpe Estates, a property investment and development company, is place-proud and works with it communities and stakeholders to provide connected and evolving spaces for Edgbaston. It strives to deliver excellence and distinction for the long-term, whilst responsibly enhancing its environment to help make the Estate accessible, inclusive and vibrant. It is known for its creation of Edgbaston Village, an impressive leisure and lifestyle destination just outside of Birmingham City Centre.
Edgbaston Village offers a selection of award-winning places to eat and drink, a superb selection of home stores to browse in, and a wide range of salons offering the latest in beauty treatments. There are plenty of places to relax, indoors and out, and a new artisan market recently launched along the new-look Greenfield Crescent, featuring an array of handmade items and locally sourced produce.
